All Boys Deserve a Trained Leader

Hello New and Current Leaders:

Remember all leaders need to be trained and our veteran leaders need to renew their training.

New leaders, have you received your basic training required to interact with young boys?

Veteran leaders, have you renewed your training as required by BSA?

Remember all adult leaders are required to have completed, at a minimum, “Youth Protection Training” (YPT) and “This is Scouting” (TIS – previously New Leader Essentials) to be “trained” and compliant with BSA rules and regulations.

As a member of Pack 414, both the Bay Area and Sam Houston councils are available to you for training. Please use which ever one will accommodate your schedule. You are welcome to training in any council, it all counts the same, just be sure to get your Training Card prior to leaving any training session!

Training is available both in person and online, with some only being offered in one form or the other. When possible, take advantage of the convenience of the internet. Along with me your pack trainer, the BSA website (www.olc.scouting.org) is a great resource to help you with your training. As member numbers are going to become more important, please call the council office at 409-744-5206 if you do not receive it after your registration is complete. This number will be used to track your progress for online courses.

Below is a list of requirements & helpful websites:
