2008 Pinewood Derby-related Events Registration is online!!! Click HERE to REGISTER ONLINE! NOT SURE IF YOU REGISTERED? CLICK HERE There is no registration fee; however, you must register each car that will be raced, including siblings and parents. PLEASE NOTE THAT THE PINEWOOD DERBY IS ONLY OPEN TO SCOUTS, SIBLINGS, AND PARENTS OF PACK 414. Pinewood Derby Workshops: There will be two workshops. The dates and times are below. Workshop 1:
January 12, 10:00am - 12:00pm at David Rowatt's house
DIRECTIONS/MORE INFO CARS ARE AVAILABLE AT THE WORKSHOPS FOR THOSE THAT DID NOT GET ONE!!! The main objective of Pinewood Derby workshop is to provide equipment to allow the shape of the car to cut and sanded. The car + wheels/axles + extra weight (which you WILL need) can then be weighed on the scale so that you will have a good idea of how close your car will be to the 5 ounce weight limit. The
following equipment will be provided: (1)
A band
saw and jigsaws for cutting the car bodies. (2)
Electric
sanders. (3)
Safety
goggles. (4)
Drills
and sandpaper axle
preparation. (5) The scale to check weight of the cars. Friday, January 25th Car check-in from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM at Epiphany Lutheran Church (See Map Below). Note: All cars must be checked on Friday night in order to compete in Pinewood Derby. Absolutely No Cars Can Be Checked in on Saturday Morning. We do not make exceptions to this rule. The weight of the car be adjusted at the Friday night weigh-in. Once the car has been registered and weighed-in, it cannot be touched or altered. Saturday Morning, January 26 Please show up to race at least 10 minutes prior to your rank's starting time so that you don't miss anything. This schedule is approximate and may change after we have received all of the entries. Any changes will be communicated to you.
There will be a concession stand during the races, so be sure to stop by! |

Pinewood
Derby Awards will be distributed at the March Pack Meeting. Design
award categories (see list below) will be announced the day of the event.
The fastest five cars in our pack will have the opportunity to race at
the District's Things That Go Event to be held on March 29th.
