Camp Karankawa

Friday Check in

4pm - 9pm ...Late arrivals are possible until 10 p.m.
(The drawbridge will be dropped at that time.)

Check in instructions: On Friday, after you enter Camp Karankawa you should be greeted by a member of the parking staff. They will give you a parking permit for your dash and tell you the location of your Pack's campsite. The Parking lot next to the campsite is designated as 15 minute parking for loading and unloading and parking for handicapped, troop trailers, Cub-O-Ree staff and emergency vehicles. You should unload your equipment next to one of the trail heads and have someone watch it while you move your vehicle to the Cub World parking lot or the overflow parking lot past the leader's lodge. There should be a coordinator helping with the carts who will take your name for the next available cart. Once your cart arrives you will load your gear, take it to your designated camp site and then promptly return the cart for others to use.  NOTE:  Due to COR being later in the year, the daylight hours will be reduced.  COR officials are asking parents to "pack light" and only bring necessary items, as it will be twilight or dark when everyone arrives and begins setting up their campsites.  The hike back to each campsite is several hundred yards, so packing light and using a wagon are good options.  Additionally, plan to team up with another camping family to setup your tents.
